957. Republicans treat Americans like 8-year olds

Think Progress:

Today on Fox News Sunday, Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist (R-TN) tried to argue that banning flag-burning and same-sex marriage are two of the nation’s most pressing priorities, which is why he put them on the Senate agenda for June:

HOST: …Are gay marriage and flag burning the most important issues the Senate can be addressing in June of 2006?

FRIST:…When you look at that flag and you tell me that right now people in this country are saying it’s okay to desecrate that flag and to burn it and to not pay respect to it, is that important to our values as a people when we’ve got 130,000 people fighting for our freedom and liberty today? That is important. It may not be important here in Washington where people say, well, it’s political posturing and all, but it’s important to the heart and soul of the American people. … Why marriage today? Marriage is for our society that union between a man and a woman, is the cornerstone of our society. It is under attack today.

and the rest...

Americans respond by acting like 3-year olds. Wake up folks!!

    Hey,

When americans join arm forces, we swear to defend the constitution againts foreign and domestic threats....

This allows for any americans to do and say what ever they feel like doing...As much as it hurts anyone who has served, that is the right of every american...ofcourse i don't want to see americans burning the flag, but to amend the constitution to prevent it, it's to much...

Americans, seem to act slow to stupid shit congress is wasting time in, because, this white house regime has everyone believing that when you question their ways, we become unpatriotic, it's bullshit, but we are slowly coming around. i honestly believe that most of us are tire of smelling their shit, and will act upon it soon...(elections)

Again, this government regime has everyone believing that "marriage" is some kind sacred shit...people marry and divorce like is going out of style...but since a lot of americans follow this regime blindly, they eat their shit up without doubt...

the only way to stop this, is to get them out...changes are happening don't worry...

    .:V:.

There is some evidence that things may be changing, but we need to see more concrete results. And soon.

That Debra Bowen won in the CA Secretary of State Democratic primary is good, very good, but that's just the primary.

I took a very special interest in the CA 50th Congressional special election (not a primary)... did volunteer work, talked it up continuously, sent money. (The 50th is in San Diego and I'm in Los Angeles.) That Francine Busby could lose this election to REPUBLICAN LOBBYIST Bilbray with former Republican congressman Cunningham in prison for engaging in the biggest bribery scandal in congressional history makes me far less optimistic about Democratic chances for November.

I know it's a very Republican district, but Busby was ahead in the polls until late in the campaign. She shoulda won this.

    Results, results, results.
